Don’t Put Yourself At Risk
Flyin’ high in the sky in Downtown St Pete! This area is located within a Zero Grid of Class D Airspace. Which means not only does the FAA Part 107 Certified pilot need to have Class D Airspace authorization. But because of the close proximity to the airport, it’s known as a “Zero Grid”. Which means that a drone pilot must additionally apply for FAA authorization for EVERY flight in that grid.
These procedures are put in place so that manned aircraft AND drone pilots know where each other are to avoid accidents. If found in violation not just the pilot but the person/organization who hired them could face fines into the tens of thousands.
